RSRV Rosé Foujita – Champagne Mumm
RSRV Rosé Foujita is a unique cuvée, a tribute to the artist and his friendship with Mumm. The cuvée is adorned with the rose painted for the House.
For almost half a century, the Brut Rosé cuvée from the G.H. MUMM champagne house has concealed Léonard Foujita’s work of art: the “Rose de Foujita”, which still adorns the plate of its snout. In 1957, Maison president René Lalou sought a symbol to embody the cuvée and turned to the Japanese painter, who drew a rose motif in watercolor as a tribute to the wine’s elegance.
This emblematic cuvée was unveiled at the 1958 Cannes Film Festival and served for the first time at the Élysée Palace. This rose sealed the friendship between the two men, who were already close friends, a friendship later embodied in the Chapelle Foujita in Reims, built and entirely decorated by Foujita in the park donated by René Lalou.
RSRV Rosé Foujita is a blend of six Grands Crus created by Maison Mumm cellar master Didier Mariotti. Produced in limited quantities, the cuvée is aged in our cellars for four years.
