ANIMAL PORTRAITIST AND PATRON OF THE Fondation Foujita
Alexis Raoult
“Art is about being who I am.”
A sensitive and generous artist
with a singular career path and bluffing talent!
See his portrait in our video …
Impressively realistic, Alexis creates animal portraits from photographs he has taken, notably at La Tanière, a zoo-refuge in Nogent-le-Phaye (28).
Self-taught, it was when she came across a photo of a bonobo that her passion was revealed. Juxtaposing pencil and Bic pen strokes, he draws animals with deep eyes and palpable fur.
In this video, Alexis looks back on his encounter with drawing and explains the essential role it plays in his daily life: freedom, concentration, perseverance, refocusing, release…
A nomination under the sign of drawing and generosity
Alexis also looks back at his difficult life path and the balance he has found in an establishment run by the Apprentis d’Auteuil foundation, which was behind the creation of the Fondation Foujita. His appointment as Patron of the Fondation Foujita is therefore in keeping with both his career path and the resonance between his work and that of Foujita, who shared the same passion for drawing and animals. A delicate line for Foujita, more incisive for Alexis Raoult.
An exhibition in Paris to discover his works!
From November 17 to December 8, 2023, Galerie Menouar and the Fondation Foujita present Alexis Raoult’s exhibition “Wild” and celebrate his appointment as Patron of the Foundation.
